Mumbai Airport to Bandra and Khar West: How to Get There

Bandra and Khar West are among the easiest parts of Mumbai to reach from the airport. In normal traffic, the drive takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Here is how to do it.

First, check your terminal

Mumbai airport has two passenger terminals. Domestic flights mostly use Terminal 1 in Santacruz, and international flights use Terminal 2 in Sahar. Both are close to Bandra and Khar, but your exit and pick-up points will be different, so check your ticket.

Option 1: App cab

The simplest option for most visitors. Book a cab on a ride-hailing app once you have your bags. Follow the airport signs to the app cab pick-up area.

Good for: most travellers, especially with luggage.

Option 2: Prepaid taxi

Prepaid taxi counters are available at the airport. You pay a fixed fare at the counter and get a slip for the driver.

Good for: travellers without mobile data, or anyone who prefers a fixed price.

Option 3: Auto-rickshaw

Auto-rickshaws run in the suburbs, including Bandra and Khar. They are cheaper but have little space for luggage and no air conditioning.

Good for: light travellers on a budget.

How long does it take?
